WORLD SMILE DAY®

Sadly, in April, Harvey passed away just shy of his 80^th birthday.  However, on a beautiful fall day, Friday, October 5th of that year, Worcester's citizens converged on City Hall Plaza and common to remember Harvey and observe World Smile Day® and decorate the plaza with smiley faces under the direction of Sidewalk Sam, a street artist well known throughout Northeastern US.  Individuals, businesses and organizations sent teams to particpate and draw World Smile Day themed images on the sidewalk around the reflecting pool.

During the ceremony speeches were made by politicians and leaders and trophies and gifts presented to World Smile Day Ambassadors from local schools selected by their teachers for their acts of goodwill through out the year.
